SMSGlobal is founded

SMSGlobal was founded in Melbourne, Australia, with a clear ambition: to help businesses communicate with their customers simply, reliably and at scale.

Our international journey began soon after with the opening of an office in Dubai, creating a strong foundation for serving customers across the Middle East and connecting businesses across global markets.

Mobile Company of the Year

SMSGlobal was named Mobile Company of the Year at the Australian Mobile Industry Awards.

The recognition helped establish SMSGlobal as an emerging leader in mobile communications and supported the development of relationships with businesses seeking dependable messaging expertise.

Messaging API suite launches

We launched our messaging API suite, enabling businesses to integrate SMS capabilities directly into their applications, platforms and operational systems.

This gave customers greater flexibility to automate communications and incorporate messaging into the moments that mattered most to their organisations.

The MXT platform launches

SMSGlobal launched the MXT messaging platform, giving businesses a central place to manage, send and monitor their communications.

That same year, our founder and CEO, Carl Krumins, was nominated for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in recognition of the company's growth and industry contribution.

Zagreb office opens

We expanded our international presence by establishing an office in Zagreb, Croatia.

The Zagreb team strengthened our technical and operational capabilities and supported continued product development and service delivery across our global customer base.

Expansion into the United States

SMSGlobal expanded into the United States, establishing a presence in New York and strengthening our ability to support businesses operating in the North American market.

Investing in global infrastructure

As our customer base and messaging volumes grew, we continued investing in the resilience of our global infrastructure.

Enhanced backup and redundancy capabilities helped strengthen service continuity and ensure customers could depend on their messages being delivered around the clock.

Investing in automation

SMSGlobal increased its investment in automation, helping customers streamline workflows, reduce manual processes and communicate more efficiently at scale.

Supporting customers through the pandemic

During the COVID-19 pandemic, reliable digital communication became more important than ever.

Remembering Carl Krumins

SMSGlobal experienced the profound loss of its founder and CEO, Carl Krumins, who passed away unexpectedly on 3 May 2024.

Carl's vision, determination and belief in the power of communication shaped SMSGlobal from its earliest days. His legacy remains deeply embedded in the business and continues to guide our commitment to innovation, reliability and meaningful customer relationships.
